SJBO BW Baden-Württemberg Youth Wind Ensemble, Germany
The Baden-Württemberg Youth Wind Ensemble (SJBO BW) was founded in 1983 to promote and foster the best wind talents from all over the German state of Baden-Württemberg and to offer them a wind ensemble of the highest level.
Under the artistic direction of conductor Alexander Beer, 40 to 50 young people aged between15 and 21 will meet twice in 2026 for one-week working phases with final concerts and for a third phase: a trip abroad in the summer.
The SJBO has gained a high reputation through successful CD productions, international awards, numerous concerts and regular performances of contemporary compositions.
Previous tour shave taken the orchestra to several European countries, South America, South Africa, Asia and Australia. Interested wind and percussion players qualify for membership by doing an audition.
The orchestra is sponsored by the State Music Council Landesmusikrat Baden-Württemberg.
The orchestra is conducted by conductor Alexander Beer.
