Zvonimir Solin City Wind Band, Croatia
The band was founded in Solin in 1912 and it is the oldest cultural and artistic society in the city, whose rich and extensive activity has been the base of music life for more than a century.
In addition to the 45-member Orchestra, the Elementary Music School “Silvije Bombardelli” is also operating in SCWB Zvonimir, where new generations of musicians are teached by music instructors and they are being prepared to play in the orchestra.
Having performed on eminent music stages both at home and abroad (Germany, Slovenia, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bosina and Herzegovina), SCWB Zvonimir has promoted proudly its city and Croatia as well. Due to its merit in artistic area, the orchestra was Laureate of the City of Solin Award for 2002 and 2012.
It also gained significant achievements at the festivals and competitions for the wind orchestras with the prizes won at regional competitions in Croatia (1st place 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2016), national competitions (1st prize 2013, The Croatian Society of Composers Award for Best Performing Composition of the Croatian Composer in 2011, 3rd Prize in 2016. 1st prize 2025,
The Croatian Society of Composers Award for Best Performing Composition of the Croatian Composer in 2025) and the Central European Competitions (1st prize 2013 and 2016, 2nd Prize 2014).
The SCWB Zvonimir is the winner of the Split – Dalmatia County Award for 2012, and the same year it was a laureate of the Special Award of the Croatian Culture Council for an outstanding contribution to the development of Croatian culture and music.
Since 2017, the orchestra has been organizing the international wind band festival “Solin Brass Fest”, where numerous professional and amateur orchestras from Croatia, Hungary, Russia, Slovenia, Greece, Poland and Bosnia and Herzegovina performed.
President of the orchestra is Luka Roguljić, the artistic director and conductor is Tonći Ćićerić.
