The Orchestra came into being in 2000 and is part of the Cultural Caneter of the Municipality of Thermi in order to broaden their cultural horizons of youth.
The purpose of this wind band is to frame the presence of cultural and musical events of the municipality, to take part in national festival and in similar meetings abroad, with a possibility of exchange programs and is a source of creativity and expression. All young people wishing to offer the city’s cultural life.
In the Orchestra there are classes of wind and percussion instruments and a class for learning music.
The orchestra appears in religious festivals and anniversaries, but also in musical meetings in various cities of Greece. It has approximately 40 musicians. The repertoire is rich and consists of classic and contemporary works of Greek and foreign composers.
Teacher of the orchestra is John Zografidis. The Municipal Concert Band of Thermi is conducted by Miltiades Polychronidis.
